Killarney

Killarney town is packed with a variety of things to do and see. A day browsing the many boutiques, craft shops, and galleries or an afternoon strolling in the gardens of Muckross House is a must. While our selection of restaurants, bars and cafes will be sure to set your taste buds tingling.

The Park contains the most extensive area of natural woodland remaining in Ireland and is home to Irelands only remaining native herd of Red Deer. The National Parks and Wildlife Service is responsible for the management of the Park with nature conservation one of the main objectives. Since the 1960s considerable effort has been made to successfully conserve the natural habitat of this unique corner of Ireland.

Muckross House, one of Ireland’s best preserved stately homes, was presented to the Park in 1964 and forms a popular focal point and tourist attraction for the park. Adjoining the House is Muckross Gardens and Arboretum featuring a sunken garden, a rock garden and a tree garden with its famous Rhododendrons in bloom from April to July.

Other popular focal point of the Park include, Knockreer House, Killarney House, Muckross Abbey, Ross Castel and Innisfallen Island to name but a few.
