Torc Traditional Irish Dance Group is an exciting group of young Irish Traditional Dancers from Killarney. Having developed their skills and art through dance competitions, and performances at festivals, corporate events and cabaret, they have a professional and hard work ethic and have performed both individually and as a group in various corners of the globe.

The group members are fully qualified Irish Dancing Teachers registered with ‘An Coimisiún Na Rinci Gaeilge’ (TCRG) and Munster and All-Ireland champions, with approximately 20 titles in total within the group. World contenders, they have toured the world dancing as Principal Dancer and Dance captain for Irish dance shows such as ‘Celtic Life’, ‘Celtic Storm’, ‘Dance of Desire’, ‘To Dance on the Moon’, and ‘Rhythm of the Dance’ to name but a few.

The Wedding Show
For weddings, the Torc Dancers show is designed for when the band takes a break or before the band begins.  Their thirty minute performance will leave your guests amazed and in the party mood, talking about your special day for weeks to come.

The Torc Dancers specialize in both Irish Step and Sean Nós techniques of dance which add that extra variety to our performance such as dancing on barrels, battle of the Sean Nós Versus the modern Irish Step dancers.

Some numbers featured in our show are,

• Slip Jigs, the gracefulness and elegance of the female dancers as they perform this number  in the traditional light shoe.
• Corn Phíopa (Hornpipes), danced in the traditional heavy shoe and increasingly becomes faster with the dancers feet moving swiftly to the rhythm of the music.
• The Brush Dance which is the Sean Nós style of Irish Dance, this number is a show stopper and leaves your guests wanting to try it out for themselves, even the bride and groom!!!
• Accapella, this dance is performed without music.
• Modern Versus Sean Nós, the rhythms of the modern Irish Dance against the beats of the Sean Nós style of dance. This high stepping performance always gets a great cheer from your guests and no show is complete without some Tipping Reels.
